World Heritage Registration: The Cultural Landscape of Uramanat

With the experience of developing a global registry record in previous years, Taera Construction and Design Studio was selected by the Cultural Heritage Organization of the country in 2019 for the International Registration.
Uraman region, in the west part of the country, is one of the Zagros
areas with a rich cultural background. This region, which is a cultural
sphere, is located between the two countries of Iran and Iraq, where
Iran includes parts of the Kurdistan province (parts of the Sarvabad,
Sanandaj and Kamyaran cities), north and northwest of Kermanshah
Province (Paveh, Javanrud, Nowdeshah and Nowsud) and Iraq takes part in the Soleymanieh province (north and northeast).

This region with high and Rocky Mountains along the deep valleys, has a warm and dry climate in summer and it is very cold in winter. Recognizing the characteristics of the environment and its effects on the lives of the Uraman people is a very important issue in this process. On the other hand, this area is very important in plant paleontology studies. A large part is a wooded area. Oak trees are the most common trees in these forests. The most famous forests are Boz or Bozin, Palangane and Marakhil. Uramanat in Kurdistan Province has one city (Uraman-e Takht) and 76 villages. Thirteen villages of that has been registered in the national list and the twenty-two registration files of them are being followed. Uraman is a historical and cultural heritage of Kurdish regions in the west of Iran. The Uraman file was sent to UNESCO for review in the list of historical monuments of the world in February 2020.
